Syllabus

I. Course description:

The course is designed to help students with their seminar or master thesis. It concentrates on statistical and econometrical questions as well as programming work. Participants prepare a presentation (max. 30 min) of their thesis including their problem. Afterwards, the corresponding questions are discussed in class. If there is interest in learning (the basics) of certain programming languages (R, Matlab, STATA, Python), the introduction to those will be provided (by request). 

To facilitate discussion, please send your presentation three days before the meeting.

II. Prerequisites:
The course assumes knowledge of the topics taught in Advanced Statistics, Econometrics I and Econometrics II.
 

III. Schedule:

First meeting: April 16th, 14:15 – 15:00 (WSP7 – R. 313).

Afterwards: Monday (each week), 14:15 – 17:00 (WSP7 – R. 313).
